This is Clean TV Family-friendly news. I’m Jerry McGlothlin reporting what’s happening on Monday, June 14, 2010.

-------------------

Story #1: Sheriff's deputies raided a pair of Sizzler steak house restaurants this weekend in Maricopa County near Phoenix, arresting nine suspected illegal immigrant employees. (graphic) Sheriff Joe Arpaio commented on the arrest saying, "This is another example of a case where desperately needed jobs are being occupied by illegal aliens who have disregarded our laws and our borders." (end graphic)

Story #2: There are some incredible new developments regarding Barack Obama’s nominee to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York. According to Republican Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, (graphic) Connecticut U.S. District Judge Robert Chatigny took extraordinary measures in the trials of sex offenders. But what is astounding is not that the judge went to great lengths to throw the book at the sex offenders. Quite to the contrary, Judge Chatigny in 2005 went out of his way to STOP the execution of a serial killer. And more is coming out about Judge Chatigny’s record of lenient sentencing of sex offenders. (end graphic) Despite Chatigny’s soft of sex crime background, the primarily Democrat Senate Judiciary Committee sent Chatigny’s nomination to the full U. S. Senate by a vote of 11-7-1 with all Republicans voting against the nomination of the soft on sexual crimes judge, who by blocked the death penalty of serial killer/rapist Michael Ross. Ironically, after Ross dropped all his appeals in cases involving the eight women he murdered, liberal activist Judge Chatigny took on the mantle of making sure Ross would not be executed, claiming Ross had what Chatigny termed, “death row syndrome,” causing him to be depressed and wanting to die. But as hard as Judge Chatigny tried, ultimately a state Superior Court judge ruled that Ross was competent to drop his appeals and he was executed in May 2005. During his 16-year reign as district judge, Chatigny made a string of controversial rulings, including decreeing that Connecticut’s Megan’s Law for allegedly violating due process rights. The U.S. Supreme Court ultimately and unanimously reversed Chatigny’s decision, siding with Connecticut to be able to have a registry of sex offenders. But despite all of this, Judge Chatigny is Mr. Obama’s first choice to be an appellate court judge in New York, a stepping stone position to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Story #3: The quest of scientists to determine the cause of life continues with a new theory now being proposed by the writers at LiveScience.com. They quote researchers from England’s University of Leeds who suggest they have found the answer in molecules that transfer energy into organic matter. In particular, the molecule known as (graphic) pyrophosphate, although rare, is found in iron ore, which is a major component in meteorites. So, the theory is that this energizing molecule flew around the universe dropping off bits of life-giving energy wherever they traveled. (end graphic) Of course, the scientists still are not able to answer the most elemental questions, such as, “Who created the meteorites, the iron, and the molecules?” Nor is science likely ever to answer these questions that exist in a realm beyond science, residing squarely in the land of faith.

Story #4: This just in from our CleanTV Chicago Bureau, filed by Dan Zanoza. Yesterday (Sunday, June 13, 2010), the Chicago White Sox concluded the first half of a six game series with the Chicago Cubs hosting the first three contests at Wrigley Field. Formerly called the Cross Town Classic, before the 2010 Major League Baseball season began, marketing experts for the Sox and Cubs decided for the first time to play for a trophy rather than simply bragging rights. Both teams are in the throes of losing seasons and their choice of a sponsor for the trophy was a loser, too. But what makes this story so remarkable is that the two Chicago baseball teams are playing for the (graphic) BP Cup. That's right, BP as in British Petroleum! To say this was a "slick" marketing move might be an understatement, however in fairness to BP, the sponsorship deal was probably struck long before the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. (end graphic) The six game series will conclude with three more games to be played at U.S. Cellular Field, the White Sox home park, later in June.

Story #5: Summer is here and things are heating up again in the Middle East. The Sunday Times is reporting Saudi Arabia has agreed to allow Israel the use of a fly-over corridor to stage a bombing raid on Iranian nuclear plants. The Saudis are said to fear Iranian aspirations in the region and appear open to the idea of neutering their opponents’ nuclear capabilities. Apparently, tests have already been completed that would allow pilots of the Israeli Air Force an unhindered window of access on both legs of their bombing missions. While that waits in the wings, Israel is expected to receive a slap-down this week at the United Nations from a formerly friendly source, the United States. The Obama administration is expected to back a UN call for an independent commission that would investigate and then castigate the Jewish state for its role in the deaths of nine so-called Muslim activists attempting to illegally break the Israeli blockade against Hamas, the Palestinian group in control of the Gaza strip. The final decision on whether to join in the witch hunt rests with Obama alone. CleanTV religious consultants have informed us that the reason Obama made the historic bow (graphic) before the King of Saudi Arabia is that Obama’s family from Africa on his Arab Muslim father’s side, is from the Sunni sect of Islam, the same as most in Saudi Arabia, while the majority of Iran is the rival Shiite sect of Islam. So, as remarkable as it may sound, it appears that most of the world—including much of the Muslim world, will look the other way as Israel takes out Iran’s nuclear threat. (end graphic) Of course, before the dust clears, those same people silently rooting for Israel, will likely publicly unify against Israel’s ‘unprovoked act of aggression,” or worse. Ah, geopolitical posturing.

----------------

Story #6: A Blood Safety Committee advisory committee voted to retain a ban on allowing gay men to donate blood. But the 9 to 6 advisory vote can still be overruled by the Obama administration. (graphic) Cliff Kincaid of the group, America's Survival, testified Friday in favor of the gay blood ban. During an exclusive interview with CleanTV, Cliff Kincaid told us, "This is a major victory but the war is not over. We still have to remain vigilant to keep our blood supply safe." (end graphic)

-------------

Story #7: Barack Obama has been foisting more (graphic) Socialist schemes on American taxpayers than perhaps any other White House occupant in history. And now Mr. Obama is urging Congress to quickly approve a $50 billion emergency aid measure to avoid laying off teachers, firefighters and police. (end graphic) Apparently the funds for last year's staggeringly huge bailouts were spent on so many on liberal programs that Obama now needs funds to operate the basic infrastructure of the United States. Hopefully, some U.S. Senator will find the courage to begin impeachment proceedings on this renegade Oval Office occupant, before it’s too late.
