FULL NEWS TRANSCRIPT (11 minutes):

This is Clean TV Family-friendly news. I’m Jerry McGlothlin reporting what’s happening on Thursday, June 17, 2010.

-------------------

Story #1: How low can you go? Barack Obama's approval rating has fallen to a new low of 42%. That's according to The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday, June 16 showing that a mere 24% of the nation's voters strongly approve Mr. Obama's job performance. On Tuesday night, Barack Obama had a golden opportunity to enhance his public standing addressing the public on the Gulf oil crisis in light of a recent poll showing 50% of the people approving President Bush’s handling of Katrina, compared to only 35% approving of Obama’s response to the BP oil spill. Even liberal broadcasters from the mainstream news media including political pundits Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann were critical of Obama’s prime time performance. (roll video of Matthews and Olbermann). CleanTV political analyst Captain Jim Kinney found that Obama’s speech, “had the air of desperation to it, trying to counter the notion that he’s failed to show Presidential leadership in response to this crisis.” So it appears that instead of helping Obama’s image, his speech from the Oval Office to America, appears to have backfired.

Story #2: At CleanTV it is our mission to provide family-friendly television but we are also expanding into offering wholesome family films as well. So when this story came across our news desk today, our antennae went up. The state of Michigan offers to pay filmmakers a generous 42% of the costs of their movies if they film them in Michigan. So horror film producer Andrew van den Houten chomped at the bit to make his ‘masterpiece’ in Michigan. Except when Michigan film commissioner Janet Lockwood found out that his film titled (graphic), "The Woman," was actually a wicked video depicting gory, gratuitous and graphic cannibalism, she pulled the plug on the funding and from now on, Michigan will ask what the film is about before throwing millions of dollars at filthy films. (end graphic)

Story #3: The London Daily Telegraph reports that Muslims in Mogadishu, Somalia murdered two fellow Muslims and arrested 30 more after clerics forbade the wasting of time watching sports. According to Sheikh Mohamed Abdi Aros, (graphic) 'good' Muslims should, "Focus instead on pursuing holy jihad." And for those who don’t know, ‘holy jihad’ in the Islamic religion means the mass murder of all non-Muslims until there are only Muslims left, and then there will be world peace. You heard that right. In Islam, once all non-Muslims are hacked to pieces, there’s world peace. (end graphic)

Story #4: The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals once again ruled that (graphic) the Ten Commandments displayed in two southeastern Kentucky courthouses violated the Establishment Clause of the Constitution. The ruling upholds a decision issued in 2008 by the US District Court for Eastern Kentucky. In a 2-1 ruling the court found the purpose of the Ten Commandments display placed in the McCreary and Pulaski County Courthouses were religious, rather than educational, therefore violating the Establishment Clause. (end graphic) Judge James L. Ryan did however, recommend a rehearing with the full Sixth Circuit panel of Judges because several other rulings by the court came to different conclusions. The ACLU has persistently filed multiple motions with the court calling for a permanent injunction. The counties have since issued multiple resolutions in an attempt to place themselves within the bounds of the First Amendment, as interpreted by liberal courts. Mathew Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, and who has defended the counties says they will appeal the ruling. Since the high court's decision in 2005, Ten Commandments displays and monuments in Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Nebraska, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia have been challenged and taken down.

---------------

Story #5: The Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention voted in a closed session June 14 to elect (graphic) 57-year-old Frank Page as the organization’s next president and CEO, replacing Morris Chapman, who retires Sept. 30 after 18 years. (end graphic)

Story #6: The vast mineral riches of Afghanistan were not 'discovered' this week. They have been well known for years. For anyone who cares to research this further, on your screen is a link to a mainstream assessment of this ‘old news’ trillion dollar ‘discovery’ from the U.S. Geological Survey back from 1997:

http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1819

So, why the big propaganda campaign by the Obama administration? Why sell the Afghan mineral jackpot as if it were something new? And why act as if the Sharia law-minded people of Afghanistan actually want to be a Western Republic? Sharia, the religious law of the Taliban, Saudi Arabia, etc., is irreconcilable with the government of a free Republic. If anyone knows this it is Barack Obama, who has been schooled in Islamic law from birth. So why the big charade? Something to think about. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the citizens of the United States of America are weary of a war that has now surpassed the ‘conflict’ in Vietnam, which was never actually called a war, that has now set the record as the longest active military ‘conflict’ in U.S. history. So, to entice the war-weary American public to patiently 'invest' in a long, expensive war, the Obama administration is now holding out a 'newly discovered' 24-carat gold stick, studded with precious gems-- and lithium—perhaps to help us cope with the many manic swings of the Obama governing roller coaster. This ride needs to come to an end and impeachment proceedings need to begin.

Story #7: Barack Obama and BP executives reached agreement yesterday for BP to set aside a fund of $20 billion for compensation to oil spill victims. But is this enough to restore America's confidence in Obama as a leader? CleanTV political and military analyst, Captain Jim Kinney helps put the matter into perspective. (roll video of Kinney’s minute on Obama’s popularity)

Story #8: Captain Jim Kinney on Obama
