FULL NEWS TRANSCRIPT (13 minutes):
This is Clean TV Family-friendly news. I’m Jerry McGlothlin reporting what’s happening on Friday, June 18, 2010.
--------------------- Story #1: Individual Congressmen appeared relieved today to finally be off of the hotseat of public scrutiny long enough to put the shoe on another foot: Big Foot, a.k.a. (graphic) BP Oil CEO Tony Hayward, who gave lawmakers a taste of their own medicine, doing political sidestepping of questions. He apologized for the disaster but offered no definitive solution. Hum... Sounds just like most of our politicians. (end graphic)
--------------------- Story#2: Snakes on a Plane? How 'bout Heads on a Plane! A Southwest Airlines employee found a box of about 50 human heads 'headed' to a medical research company in Ft. Worth, Texas. Southwest spokeswoman Ashley Rogers said that the box "wasn't labeled or packaged properly." Authorities are trying to determine where the heads came from and if they were acquired properly. Considering the fact that Muslims are commanded to decapitate 'infidels,' the first place CleanTV suggests looking for suspects are in Muslim Mecca’s. (graphic) Perhaps the Muslim sentiments about this subject can best be summed up through the words on this graphic we found on the Internet titled, “Behead those who say Islam is violent!” (end graphic)
---------------------
Story #3: New York Federal Judge Stephen Robinson has approved a new system of voting which allows each voter to cast up to six ballots, a process called cumulative voting. (graphic) Violating the longstanding tradition of “one man, one vote,” residents of a New York City suburb are under court orders to cast up to six ballots each in hopes of helping to elect Hispanics as village trustees. The Justice Department was concerned there were no Hispanic officials helping to govern Port Chester, New York, despite census totals showing nearly half the local population is of Hispanic background. (end graphic) Since most who take the time to vote there have been white, whites consistently have won elections. But, Federal Judge Stephen Robinson has ruled such election results violate the Voting Rights Act, so he approved a new system of voting which allows each voter to cast up to six ballots, a process called cumulative voting. Voter reaction to the new system following this week’s balloting was mixed.
---------------------
Story #4: A law that would place virtually total control over the Internet into the hands of the US President is being proposed by Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. In case of a national emergency, the bill would order all broadband providers, search engines, and software firms to comply with “any emergency measure or action developed” by the Department of Homeland Security, giving Obama a (graphic) ‘kill switch’ to knock out all Internet communications in one second. So far, most Internet-based entities in the private sector are “on board” with the idea, since they would be repaid by the government for any financial harm suffered during such a government-imposed blackout. (a.k.a. the feds printing more money) (end graphic) Free speech advocates like the lobbying group TechAmerica and the Center for Democracy and Technology are opposing the bill due to its potential for “absolute power,” and the authority it grants to “shut down or limit internet traffic on private systems.”
---------------------
Story #5: If you’re pro-life, you may be surprised to learn over one billion of our tax dollars were awarded to organizations that support abortion. (graphic) The non-partisan Government Accountability Office reports organizations like Planned Parenthood, the Guttmacher Institute, and SIECUS received the cash over a seven-year span ending in 2009. While federal law prohibits direct funding of elective abortions, the grants allowed the agenda, influence, and outreach of these organizations to expand. (end graphic) Critics of the new GAO report contend the actual totals of taxpayer funding for these organizations may be much higher, perhaps more than twice the official estimate. ---------------------
Story #6: Has the economy turned the corner, or has it fallen off a cliff? These numbers might make you think twice. Data released by the US Treasury and analyzed by SNL financial indicates (full screen graphic of bank bailout cartoon) 91 US banks were unable to make scheduled dividend payments in May under terms of the government’s troubled asset repayment, or TARP program. That number of beleaguered banks rose from 74 institutions which had missed payments, last February. (end graphic)During the bailout, the government bought preferred share from troubled banks, which promised to pay quarterly dividends in return. More than 600 banks across the USA still participate in the TARP program and owe the government roughly 130 billion dollars.
---------------------
Story #7: Austin Ruse of Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute has updated CleanTV of the diabolical doings at the United Nations-backed ‘Women Deliver’ conference in Washington DC where abortion activists announced the achievement of a new international human right to so-called maternal health. This new ‘right’ to (full screen graphic of cute baby) kill innocent children requires nations to liberalize abortion laws and create numerous new bureaucracies, procedures and programs. (end graphic) In a paper entitled, “Preventing Maternal Mortality and Ensuring Safe Pregnancy," the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR) asserted, “Women’s rights to life, health, and non-discrimination entitle them” to maternal health and that “governments must ensure women’s access to high-quality, (graphic of tiny baby feet) appropriate reproductive health care, abolish discriminatory laws and social practices … and allow women to make autonomous decisions regarding their reproductive lives.” Ah, the sinfully snakishly slick, devilishly deceptive language that leads to the murder of far more human beings that a thousand John Wayne Gacey’s and Jack the Rippers combined. (end graphic)
---------------------
Story #8: Our final story is about a woman having a pain in the neck--literally. A desperate unemployed (graphic) woman from Niles, Michigan shot herself in the neck in hope that she could receive medical treatment for a shoulder injury. The original injury was sustained while playing with her pet dogs but since she didn't have health insurance, opted for Plan B: shooting herself. Now to add the proverbial insult to injury, still no medical coverage and the prosecutor's office is deciding how to bring charges against 41-year-old Kathy Myers for discharging a firearm within city limits. (end graphic) Let's see. Things not to do today? Don't shoot yourself to try to get medical coverage.
