This is CleanTV family-friendly national news on demand. I’m Jerry McGlothlin reporting what’s happening on Monday, June 28, 2010.

----------------

Story #1: (graphic) Elena Kagan may be the second Jewish woman to be nominated for the Supreme Court, but a group of prominent Orthodox rabbis is saying, “Not so fast.” The 850-member Rabbinical Alliance of America claims Kagan is “not kosher,” citing her support for homosexual rights, partial-birth abortion, and failure to defend religious rights. (end graphic) Rabbi Yehuda Levin told CNS News dot com that Kagan is, “Not fit to sit on this Court or any court.” He called on the Senate Judiciary Committee to block her nomination, claiming it is “hastening society’s already steep decline into Sodom and Gomorrah.” Levin urged Senators to stage a filibuster, if necessary, to prevent a vote on Elena Kagan’s confirmation.

Story #2: “Your papers, please?” No, it’s not an old World War II movie. It’s happening on the streets of Toronto, this weekend, as (graphic) Canadian police exercise sweeping new powers, granted to maintain control during the G-20 summit. A secret law, passed by the Ontario government, allows police to demand identification and search anyone entering within five meters of designated security zones. (end graphic) The new law even allows authorities to charge those unaware of its existence. Such was the case Thursday with a 32-year-old man, arrested for failing to reveal his identity to police. It also empowers police to “use such force as is necessary” to exclude those without proper credentials from the security zone. The law is set to expire later today and has been opposed by the Canadian Civil Liberties Association.

---------------

Story #3: The Illinois State Police has revoked the appointment of the agency's first Muslim chaplain, citing only information revealed during a background check. A national Muslim advocacy group Wednesday blamed the move on Islamophobia. (graphic) Kifah Mustapha, a Chicago-area imam, was appointed the agency's first Muslim chaplain in December. Community groups had praised Mustapha's appointment as a nod to the growing diversity among the agency's nearly 2,000 officers. But within days, the appointment came under criticism from the Investigative Project on Terrorism, a Washington-based think tank. (end graphic) The Associated Press reports Council of American-Islamic Relations in Chicago, which is representing Mustapha, as saying the imam was not told why his appointment was put on hold. Ahmed Rehab, CAIR's executive director in Chicago, called it discrimination against Muslims, especially since Mustapha hasn't been formally accused of wrongdoing.

Story #4: Last Friday a story broke too late for us to report but June 25, 2010 is a day that will live in infamy. Why? Because on Friday ICANN, the nonprofit corporation that coordinates the Internet naming system, voted to allow the (graphic) .XXX domain suffix to become legal. Morality in Media President Robert Peters believes the ICANN officials are naïve if they actually believe that hard core pornographers will actually obey the rules and move all of their filthy web sites to .xxx domains. Plus the .xxx domains will only block children’s access to sites using the triple x domains if parents know how to program their computers to block the .xxx sites. (end graphic) Peters believes it is wrong to have dignified all the porn sites of the world by giving them a legal home since pornography doesn’t just harm children but many adults are addicted to this filthy material that has contributed to the destruction of many families and fueled sexual violence against women.

-------------------

Story #5: Actor Kevin Kostner is promoting a device that has successfully been separating oil and water for BP. Kostner poured $20 million of his own money into a centrifuge that processes tremendous volume of liquid. BP tested it and ordered 32 more units based on the successful trial. Although Kostner’s huge budget film (graphic) "Waterworld" was known as one of the all time industry mega-flops, his new oil water world device is picking up the slippery slack in leaving the actor with a positive legacy. (end graphic)
